Pernille Picherit spent years establishing herself as a graphic designer and wallpaper artist. In 2016, she took a bold leap into the world of fine
art, embracing freer, more experimental forms of expression that would redefine her creative path.
A Foundation in Mastery
Pernille’s artistic evolution was deeply influenced by her training
in printmaking, where she learned under the guidance of renowned printers Bo Halbirk and Catherine Gillet.
Through their mentorship, Pernille mastered classical methods such as: Planographic, etching, Chine collé and embossing.
These techniques became the
backbone of her artistic language, blending technical skill with tactile sensitivity.
The Shift to Contemporary Expression
Despite her deep appreciation for
traditional printmaking, Pernille felt a growing need for freedom and spontaneity. This led her to explore contemporary and mixed-media approaches, plus adding volume to her pieces.
Her work today reflects a harmonious tension between discipline and experimentation, where classical techniques meet modern innovation. Each
piece becomes a dialogue between the past and the present, inviting viewers into a world of texture, contrast, and emotional resonance.
